Very early on, we began to realize that our community is a USDA Food Desert. This means that too many of our neighborhoods have to travel too far to reach a store that sells fresh produce.
We began gardening on our neighborhood's vacant lots in 2013 and have slowly and sustainably grown and taken on more property.
