The Story

In 2014, we heard from many of our families about the struggles of the back to school season. School supplies that regularly cost $50+, new shoes, new backpacks, and not a lot of places to go for help. So we started our Summer Slam back-to-school event aimed at resourcing our neighborhood kids with all of the supplies they needed to start the school year off right. 

Well, that idea caught on and by 2022 there were dozens of backpack drives happening across the city. Every kid in the city could have five backpacks if they wanted. So, in 2023 we decided to focus on back-to-school shoes. Thanks to the help of many supporters and partners we gave away over 700 pairs of new shoes.
