Our Culture
At Micah 6 Community, we value employees who align with our cultural principles. These are the values we live by:
- Relationships First: We prioritize relationships over projects and neighbors above all else. Our goal is to leave every interaction positive and to foster lasting friendships through our work.
- Figure It Out: We’re self-starters who embrace challenges. There’s no easy way to do this work, and we believe in our abilities to solve problems and make progress.
- Innovate/Take Risks: “Give it a shot” is a guiding phrase here. We encourage trying, failing, learning, and evolving. The only thing that isn’t an option is doing nothing.
- Follow-Through: When we commit, we get it done. Consistency builds credibility, and we believe in being reliable and accountable to our community.
- Opportunity: Our volunteers are essential to our work, including in the gardens, future community center, events, and more. Volunteer management, however, can often take a backseat to daily tasks. This position ensures volunteers are connected to meaningful projects and supported throughout their experience.

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:
- Top-notch customer service skills: Clear communication, a positive attitude, and the ability to create a welcoming, productive work environment.

- Task-oriented approach: Ability to stay organized, track volunteer participation, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Relationship-building skills: You’ll engage with diverse groups of volunteers, from middle schoolers to work-release participants to senior citizens. It’s crucial to connect with people from all walks of life and treat every volunteer with care and respect.
